Kickstart

The fastest way to become competent with a new technology, and cement your knowledge of it, is to dive in and develop using it. Our kickstart service will get your company or project up and running quickly to where you can apply and practice the skills learned in our training courses.

We have real experience with production projects in Scala, and skills with the tools necessary to get you up and running in no time. Some of the tooling/integrations we offer as part of our kickstart include:

• Maven or SBT based build process (+ Jenkins/Hudson integration if desired)
• IDE setup for Eclipse, NetBeans and/or IDEA
• Source code management with subversion, mercurial or git
• Deployment, including application servers or servlet containers
• Cloud services for build / deployment (e.g. Amazon Web Services, Heroku)
• Web application setup, Play or Lift
• Identifying third party libraries and frameworks to help you achieve your goals

We can also work with you on early iterations of the project, but the aim will be to get your project self-sufficient as quickly as possible, and to hand off the project to you and your team with the most project momentum and the least friction possible.

Extra Services

We also offer some other services for Scala projects, such as mentoring for projects we helped to kickstart, consulting to help with sticky problems, advice on open source libraries and frameworks, recommendations for other developers and consultants with specialized skills in the Scala ecosystem, and more.
